Getting StartedPlans and Limits

Plans and limits

What each Hotline UGC plan costs, what it allows, and what happens when a workspace reaches a limit.

The three plans

Subscriptions are billed in US dollars. Creator payouts are separate and use whatever currency the workspace is set to, so a workspace paying its creators in AUD still pays for Hotline in USD.

Annual billing charges once per year: US$948, US$1,908 and US$4,788 respectively.

Every plan includes the Meta and Shopify integrations, attribution and creator payouts. Growth and Agency add private Slack support.

New subscriptions start with a 7 day trial. The product is fully open during it.

What counts as a seat

A team member is an owner or an admin. Creators are not billable seats, which is why the creator limit is counted separately and why Growth and Agency leave it uncapped.

Pending invitations count against both limits. A Starter workspace with three creators cannot send fifteen invitations and sort it out later, because the limit is on seats claimed rather than seats filled. Revoking an invitation returns the seat, and so does letting it expire.

Reaching a limit

Being over a limit stops you adding somebody new. It never removes anyone, and nothing already in the workspace stops working. Content, ads, earnings and pay runs all carry on exactly as before, and the only blocked action is the next invitation.

If you are at the creator limit and a creator has finished working with you, set their membership to inactive rather than deleting anything. The seat is freed and their past work, earnings and payout history stay intact.

When a workspace is locked

A workspace is open while its subscription is active, trialing, or comped. Anything else closes it, which in practice means a subscription that was never started, one whose payment failed, or one that was cancelled.

A locked workspace shows a plan picker and nothing else. Choosing a plan reopens it with everything still in place.

Installing through Shopify

Merchants who install Hotline from the Shopify App Store are billed by Shopify under App Pricing rather than by card through Stripe, and the plan is managed on the Shopify side.

A workspace that already pays by card cannot take an App Store install, because Shopify requires apps installed from the App Store to be billed by Shopify. The install button is hidden in that case rather than offered and then refused.

Changing plan

Open Billing

Settings, then the Billing tab. It shows your current plan, the limits it carries and what you are using against them.

Pick a tier

The same picker serves an upgrade, a downgrade and a first subscription, so the tiers and prices cannot drift apart between the places they are offered.
