The Hub

Boards, Pages, Discovery, Content, Gifting and Products, and which of them each role sees.

What the Hub is

The Hub is where the work lives. Everything to do with making a video, from the reference material that inspires it through to the finished cut and the product a creator needed to film it, sits behind one nav entry and a row of tabs.

The tabs differ by role. A brand and a creator open the same Hub and see a different set, because some of it is yours to run and some of it is theirs to use.

Brands manage products from Gifting, which is why there is no separate Products tab on their side. Creators have no Gifting tab because requesting product is what the Products tab is for.

Boards

A board collects ads and creatives into one place: references, a mood board, a set of variants you want to talk about, the do and do not list for a campaign.

Boards can be shared two ways:

  • With people in the workspace, by naming them
  • By link, with anyone at all, including people who have no Hotline account

A share link can carry a password and an expiry date. Both are optional and both are worth setting when the link is going outside your company.

Pages

Pages is a block editor for anything written: briefs, guidelines, company documents, the detail that does not fit on a board.

Each page has a visibility:

VisibilityWho sees it
PrivateOnly you, plus anyone you share it with individually
TeamOwners and admins
CreatorsOwners, admins and the creators in the workspace

Sharing a page with one person individually works on top of the visibility setting, so a private page can go to a single creator without opening it to everybody.

Pages can be pinned to the top of the list, up to five at a time, and marked complete when a brief has been used. Completed pages drop below a divider rather than disappearing.

Discovery

Discovery is a brand-side research tool built on the Meta Ad Library. It is for finding ads worth learning from, and saving them somewhere you can talk about them.

Any ad in any of the three views can be saved to a board, which is how a competitor's creative ends up in the same place as the brief that answers it.

Discovery searches public ad data. It is not creator discovery: Hotline has no roster to browse and does not source creators for you. You bring the people you want to work with.

Content

Content is the review queue. Creators upload here, brands watch and respond here, and an approved video is published to Meta from here.

Every upload is a version, including the first. Notes can be pinned to a timestamp on the video, so feedback points at the frame it is about. A revision comes back as the next version with the previous file still reachable.

Creators see the same tab as My Content, holding their own uploads and nothing else.

Publish a video to Meta

What happens when an approved video becomes an ad.

Gifting

Brands send free product to creators from the Shopify catalogue, either by approving a request or by sending something unprompted.

Gifting

Requests, bundles, the limits you can set, and how a parcel is tracked.

Products

The creator's side of gifting. It holds the catalogue they can request from, any bundles the brand has published, and their own request and order history with tracking.

A creator needs a shipping address on file before they can request anything, which is why it is one of the steps in creator onboarding.
